2008 End of Year Review

So last January, the Carpool Club decided to see if any of us could complete Elementary School again and began quizzing each other using the "...Smarter than a 5th Grader..." daily calendar. Each month we would have one carpool dedicated to asking the month's set of questions and then reviewing the previously completed questions. Since5 January 2009 was the first "full" carpool of the year, we decided that Juicy and Chester would have the official End of Year Exam. Take my word that it was very competitive (although Chester had not previously shown any signs of being able to hang with Juicy. When all was said and done, Juicy had correctly answered 169 questions first and Chester had correctly answered 140 questions first. They both can move to Junior High...again.

New Year's Resolutions

It's officially the time for all of us to lie, even if we don't mean to do so. Even the best carpooler is only 60% effective on maintaining true to new NY Resolutions...hardly a passing grade even in the most gracious schools. Regardless, here we go: Juicy - 10 pushups a day ("Hey -- if I'm down doing 10, I'll surely do more.") Chester - Maintaining last year's resolution for healthy eating and not going to the office's "mini-mart" Dash - I'll post to the blog (what do you know, resolution met -- I'm done for the year) Have a Healthy and Happy New Year!

Just a Quick Note

I simply cannot believe it is going to be 2009 tomorrow! This past year has been nothing short of action packed for me and my family.

As you know, my grandmother passed away last month and earlier this year my father had some severe health issues (thankfully, he is on the mend). While both of these events were particularly trying for us all, it reaffirmed for me how tight knit a group we are! I am truly blessed to have been born into this clan!

In July of this year we had a fantastic addition to our family – Sean James – my nephew! Here he is with my dad – a very proud grandfather indeed! I know I am biased, but this is the happiest little guy I have ever been around…and it is contagious.

Curiously enough, this action – ebb and flow – has mirrored itself professionally as well. This year I have shifted my primary focus from headhunting and you have seen the ground swell that has taken Build the Career You Deserve to new heights in a very short period of time (the webinars, my coaching program, the blog…the list goes on). But that is just the beginning.

In January, I will unveil some huge, new solutions for you and your job search. These will include:

Hello there!

 

I hope that this email finds you feeling good.  Many of you have heard my song titled "From Honeymoon to Honey-do."  Since most of you told me that you liked it, I'm sending you a fun follow-up.

 

Above is the link to an instructional video called "The Honey-do."  "The Honey-do" is a new line dance that goes with the song "From Honeymoon to Honey-do."  If you haven't heard the song, you can check it out either on iTunes or at www.myspace.com/SumofSquares.  Choreographer Rona Kaye is narrating the steps and dancing with me.  I hope that you enjoy the song-and-dance.  After you watch the video, will you please post a rating and some comments?  You can send the above links to family and friends as well.

 

This song-and-dance combo is nice for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, engagement parties, bridal showers, Valentine's Day receptions, and any other settings where people feel like line-dancing.  "The Honey-do" is about as easy to do as the "Electric Slide," and "From Honeymoon to Honey-do" is a faster, more peppy song.  If after watching the video you need further help on how to do the dance, please zap me by email.  If you would like to film some of your friends doing "The Honey-do," please let me know and send me a copy of the film.  If you'd like to spice it up some, have at it!
